The compact S-18-100T Pull-type Latching Solenoids are: 1.00 in. wide x 0.84 in. high x 1.73 in. long with 0.313 in diameter plunger. <\/span><\/p>\n
The plunger has a stroke of up to 0.75 in. and has a 0.30 in. deep clevis and cross drilled 0.096 in. diameter hole for a 3\/32 roll pin. Two 8-32 (or optional M4) threaded mounting holes are located on the underside of the solenoid for easy integration into new and existing applications.<\/span><\/p>\n These motion control solenoids may be energized by a short pulse of voltage. Once the plunger is seated, no further power is required to keep it in place as the internal permanent magnets will provide a latching force for the plunger. The latching action can be released by a short pulse of voltage in the opposite polarity.<\/span><\/p>\n The required holding force of an application will dictate the selection of the type of plunger (flat or conical face), and pull force required will dictate the AWG number and ampere turns. The nominal latched holding force is 5 lb. with a flat face plunger and 2 lb. with a conical face plunger. Conical face plunger produces a higher pull force at a long stroke while its holding force is less, compared to a flat face plunger. <\/span><\/p>\n The plunger can be supplied with optional integral E-ring and spring to help move the plunger back once the latching action is released.<\/span><\/p>\n Typical applications include: Valve control, office equipment, switch activation, clamping, positioning, games and toys, vending machines, and door locks.
