Designed for use with brushless linear and rotary servo motors and also conventional brush-type servo motors, the MICROMATIC-5 Controllers are ideal for Micromachining, Laser Machining, high speed assembly, high velocity dimensional inspection, video based metrology, and semiconductor manufacturing applications.

Higher levels of control, tighter servo loops, 15% greater efficiency, higher power, greater reliability, shorter settling times, and shorter move times are the result of commutating the phase windings of linear and rotary motors directly. Axes can operate independently or be easily programed to perform circular, helical, and spherical interpolation. Designed for NEMA 17 through 34 size servo motors drawing up to 7.5 A cont. (15 A peak) and 160 VDC (170 VDC peak), the power output is 1.2 KW/axis (2.5 KW/axis peak). Emergency stop (all axes), Encoder loss detection, limit switches, Over heat, Over voltage, ground fault detectors, and Opto-isolated I/O's, provides protection for the controller, system, and personnel.

Compliant with stringent CE and S2-93 standards, the high performance MICROMATIC-5 Series Controllers are supplied with a standard 40 MHz CPU. Processor options include a 60 or 80 MHz processor. The rack mounted controllers are just 19 in. x 7 in. x 15 in. deep. Some of the many options include: Type of connectors, Laser interface ports, direct I/O port connectors, custom homing routines, and remote operator panel.
