Valencia, CA -- Motran Industries has introduced a new line of linear electromagnetic inertial force actuators designed to provide high performance active vibration control. They are also used as vibrators over a wide range of frequencies and forces. These highly linear inertial transducers are very cost effective as compared to existing technologies such as solenoids or rotary motors, and offer high output force to size relationship that favors many applications.

"By contrast, linear electromagnetic actuators are compact, provide high energy continuous output with low inductance, and perform in a wider frequency range. Motran manufacturers a standard line of linear actuators designed to provide output from one pound to 300 pounds, and will accommodate custom designs. Two types of actuators are currently available: inertial actuators are designed to actively produce mass reaction forces onto the surface on which they are mounted, and axial force actuators with shaft output, which apply force between the mounting surface and a driven element, often in parallel with passive elements. Both types of actuators are durable, high temperature tolerant and are completely sealed. The inertial actuator has no external moving parts.
