Clearwater, FL -- Micro Mo Electronics, Inc., the market leader in coreless motor technology, announces the availability of an 8 mm (0.3 in.) diameter motor series with matching planetary gearheads. Believed to be the smallest and most powerful gearmotors for their size commercially available, the 08 Series was designed to meet ever increasing demand for very small actuator packages capable of doing the work of larger, more conventional, motors. Design activity is now active in medical instrument, pipe inspection, miniature robotic, and lab top automation programs.

The 0816 series motors are now available in 3V, 6V, and 8VDC versions and are capable of output power up to .18 Watts and stall torques of up to .06 oz-in. Mating planetary gearheads with ratios from 4:1 up to 4,096:1 afford maximum output torques to 8.5 oz-in. continuous, and up to 120 oz-in. intermittent with gearhead efficiencies of up to 90%. Six different ratios are currently available. Both the motors and gearheads come standard with sintered bearings and optionally with ball bearings. No load motor speeds range from 15,800 to 17,800 RPM depending on coil version. Gearhead backlash at no load < 3 degrees and (<4 degrees at 2.8 oz-in.). all products come with free applications engineering and design support, as well as stocking, sample, and scheduled delivery options for oem customers.<>
