Clearwater, Florida - MicroMo Electronics, Inc. is pleased to announce the new motion control R22i optical transmissive encoder. The R22i has rugged PET 530 housing material with an IP-40 rating, making it a perfect match for light automation and office automation applications. It fits where much larger and more costly encoders are generally required, making the R22i the perfect choice for saving space and benefiting from high resolution Opto-ASIC technology. This full-featured optical incremental encoder provides velocity, direction of rotation and position feedback for Faulhaber DC motors.

The R22i offers a range of resolutions and multiple output options. Common incremental encoder resolutions of 256, 512 and 1024 line count with A, B and Z channels are available from stock. The R22i, with single-ended outputs, offers a simple design with minimal cost. The differential line driver version provides enhanced EMI noise immunity for a more robust system.

One of the highest performance-to-size encoders, the R22i offers a powerful solution that is easily incorporated into product designs. The 22mm diameter by 17mm length adds minimal volume to the motor, requiring the least amount of space. The high resolution versions operate well even at high speeds due to a 300kHz frequency response. The built-in JAE snap-fit connector allows quick integration for low assembly costs. The optional 12 inch cable makes prototyping easier, and can be customized to meet your length and connector requirements. RoHS compliance ensures acceptance in environmentally sensitive markets.
